There is so much advice out there about “how to make money online” - advice that promises to help you achieve a 3, 4, 5, 6, even 7-figure monthly income - that the average newcomer to online business must be very surprised to learn that 95% of those who actually have online businesses are losing money. My goal is to give people the knowledge they need – knowledge gained from my own successes and failures in online business - to enter this industry and reap the fantastic rewards that really are available if only you know the right way to find them.
Because one thing certainly is true: online business today is one of the most profitable areas in which to invest your money, time and efforts. The problem, and the reason why many newbies continue to fail, is that people continue to ignore a few simple, essential rules of online business. These simple rules form the basis of the concepts that I am going to share with you throughout this website, and each of them must be implemented and, more importantly, fully understood before you can see your internet marketing dreams become a reality.
The Core Principles
Generally, there are two equally important core areas that a marketer must study and master before they can consider themselves a pro. These are:
1. The Right Mindset
2. Technical Skills
Most online entrepreneurs will completely ignore the first core area. Some others will accept it but will fail to implement it. But guess who belongs to that 5% of online marketers who are actually making money? If you guessed “Those with the right mindset”, you are correct. I want you to be aware of this at the outset because I will be discussing the appropriate mindset later and I want you to start preparing for it now.
Where Does the Money Come From?
So what are we all doing online that lets us consider ourselves “moneymakers”? We are the ones who sell the products. Some advanced marketers might sell their own products, but most of us make a living off of selling other people’s products and earning commissions. Is it simple? Yes! Is it easy? No! Do you think that you know why it is not easy? I bet you do. I bet you think it is because of high competition, poor traffic, or just because of those stupid people who don’t want to pay for your amazing offer. Right? WRONG! The only reason you can’t sell something is YOU. I personally started to see my own sales increase only after I understood this statement completely.
Make Them Say “Me Too!”
While everything that I will cover on this website is important, here is the main idea that I want you to take away from our discussion: an online customer does not choose to make a purchase because of the company, or the sales program, or even the product. If a customer chooses to buy, it is because the person selling that product created a sense of personal connection with the customer. The customer does not choose your product. The customer chooses YOU.
When people go online, they want one (or all) of three things: they want to connect, they want to be entertained, and they want to change their current state. Once you are aware of why people are searching for your product, you can use that information to engineer a “me too” response, instead of the dreaded “so what” response. When you learn how to do this effectively, your potential customers will want to listen to you. They will want to deal with you and, ultimately, they will want to buy from you.
That is Internet Marketing 101, and it is the essential condition for a successful approach to online business. Just picture in your head someone responding to your advertisement with “Me too!” instead of “So what?” Just imagine how amazing it will be when people start to seek you out, and ask to promote your products. Sound too good to be true? If so, then that is the mindset that is keeping you stuck in the 95%.
